Double Happiness Jewelry has teamed up with Project Have Hope, working together to empower women and children in Uganda’s Acholi Quarter.

These women have lived through the most inhuman horrors imaginable during the civil war with Northern Uganda.  Though their lives have been shattered, these women live with a grace and strength that is truly inspirational.

Project Have Hope works with these women, who craft paper beads from recycled magazines and political ads.  Each bead is rolled, then dipped in a varnish to give it a sheen, hardness and durability.  It takes about one day to create 18 – 20 beads.
